29 Palms Travel

I guess there are people that actually read this blog. I should have made this page a bit ago. The more I go to California, the more I learn. I want to share what I found so far beyond just the post about 29 Palms to Las Vegas. So I've taken out all the extra words, added in a favorite, and tried to make it somewhat general. Here's what I've found.

First and for most, our biggest lifesaver is SOS Ride. They offer rides to Palm Springs Airport (PSP) and Ontario (ONT)

"SOS volunteers provide free transportation for active-duty military personnel and their families. They also provide a sense of family and support to those who call on them. Our volunteers often offer a friendly ear to listen to our servicemen and women."

Its a service that we're beyond grateful for, and a couple times is the sole reason we could see each other.

Greyhound offers discounted military tickets if you buy round trip, or 10% off one way for walk up. Greyhound also offers Military (Active and Retired) a maximum fare of $209 round trip to anywhere in the United States.

Morongo Basin Transit Authority every weekend has a special #15 shuttle for Marines that runs from MCGACC straight to Palm Springs starting Friday and ending Sunday. One of the stops is Palm Springs Airport. MBTA has a Bus to the main city of Twentynine Palms, Yucca Valley, and Palm Springs during the week and weekends.

American, Alaska, Delta, United, US Airways are the major airlines that fly in and out of PSP. US Airways has military flights (With ID Shown) that will either land you free flight insurance in case of cancellation, or a Military fare are a discounted price. I've never flown the other, but United and US Airway are part of the Star Alliance and might not be too different.
